First Snow

When we first got to Avon the weather was gorgeous - 60-70's during the day.
I forgot how much I missed real fall weather and colors.

the view from our apartment

fall colors :)

we got a few hikes in during our first week

Bud remembers why he loved Colorado so much the first time around..

you just can't fake that blue sky

And then we woke up to this...

the new view from our apartment

replaced campee for snow

Eagle Creek flows right behind us (you can kind of hear it in the video) and it's beautiful

We're Moving...

to Vail, Colorado :)

remember this...?
[just picture that with A LOT more snow]

and there will be more of this...

oh and we'll kind of look like this while it's all happening...

I told you we had plans in the works. We leave this Sunday. Ryan got a job teaching ski lessons to 3-6 year olds and I'm still waiting to hear back on my job fate. Our jobs will be seasonal so we should be back in Arizona mid-April when the season ends.

Wish us luck on our journey to the rockies :)

Day 66: California Coast

Redwood Forest

our self-timer photo attempt

How many Gina's can fit across this truck?

so we can upon the Klamath River and there were a number of people crowded on a bridge.. we thought it might be a grizzly bear considering the statue you see above.. so we pulled over to check it out...

turns out it was not a bear...

it was a gray whale!!!

here's a better idea of where we were at on the 101 and why a whale was in a river

we had no idea it had been there since June 23rd.. sad :(
